Top 5 list! Reason's why it's not hitting the road this year.
Haha, so, I kinda saw this coming, sometimes I get a little too ambitious with meaningless hobbies or side projects and think I'll get them all done! Like the bus, I really was hoping to cruise around town this summer and show off the ride, but instead got caught up in a number of situations..
Here is the top 5 things that dissuaded my bus progress:
5. Offered a year long contract to work on a TV show, no time.
4. Select parts were almost impossible to find. Mixture control screw.
3. Parts were fussy, took longer then expected to repair.
2. Bought another bus, silly? Maybe.
1. Insurance quote: $1800/year on top of my current car payment of $3800/year = Ouch!
I hope you can feel the pain with me, I ensure you, I will not give up. Watch out for the bus next summer, It's loud, sounds like a Harley, horn is hilarious, like a mini tugboat toot and damn how could you miss it!
Sincerely,
Jeremy Kelly.

Chassis Decay/Bulking
Dad and I went and got some lengths of metal from the fab shop in town to help re-enforce the chassis. Metal was about $30, well worth the piece on mind when your whole rear assembly is hanging on by the skin of it's teeth. Little bit of fiberglass in there to keep the dirt out of the axle area.

I will have several more 'complete' photos when I get all the fiberglass on there.

New Rubbs and Brakes All Around!
You always gotta buy your tires at the right time. Canadian Tire will practically give stuff away, well not really but, I was lucky enough to get this set for $246 installed and balanced. Heck of a deal if you ask me.

Having said all that.. The brakes took forever to ship and cost a butt load of money. The front left caliper had to be completely replaced, ahh so let me add that up, it's gonna be around $220 for brakes sir.

Patch job thanks to JB Weld.
We purchased two carb rebuild kits for this engine, just to be sure they were clean inside and out and could run the best we could get them. There was also a small hole we needed to patch on the one side, nothing to big, but here is it, patched up.

Glen is adjusting the new mixture control screw. Long story short was the reason the bus did not make it on the road this fall.

Rebuilt carb.. Fancy $20 Parts Source breather..

Oil leak mystery: SOLVED!
Are you ready for this? Okay, so this bus leaked like a facet when we first got it, honestly thought it may have been the block, or a main oil seal, but low and behold, it was the god damn oil pressure sender! Popped a new one in there for about $10. No leak!
